Lowcountry Juneteenth Week & Festival
Celebrating Black Excellence

The first Lowcountry Juneteenth Week took place from June 14-20, 2021. The festival featured a week full of events in collaboration with our community partners. Our goal is to make this annual event one that will bring people together and highlight the Black Excellence rooted in the Lowcountry.

“Juneteenth” also referred to as Freedom Day or Liberation Day is the longest running African American Holiday celebrating the emancipation of African Americans who had been enslaved in the United States. Through Lowcountry Juneteenth Week and Festival, we aim to magnify an often overlooked moment in African American history.
